  • Stacy Richards - Chief Executive Officer

Stacy’s work and leadership are deeply shaped by what she witnessed growing up. From an early age, she saw family members, friends, and neighbors struggle through circumstances beyond their control, often without the knowledge or resources to change their situations. Those realities became personal when both her father and brother became involved in the justice system.

As a teenager, Stacy experienced her father’s 17 year prison sentence and later watched him struggle to reenter society after release. In 2018, the weight of those challenges became too much for him to carry, and he passed by suicide. Just one month prior, her brother began an even longer sentence, marking another turning point for her family.

These experiences opened Stacy’s eyes to the systemic barriers justice involved individuals face, especially after incarceration. Housing, employment, community acceptance, and basic stability often stand just out of reach, making successful reentry incredibly difficult and recidivism more likely.

Rather than accept those outcomes as inevitable, Stacy committed herself to creating pathways for a better future. Her work focuses on the core supports needed for a true fresh start, especially stable housing and vocational training. Guided by both personal conviction and lived experience, she leads with a belief that individuals deserve resources, opportunity, and dignity as they rebuild their lives.

  • April Sudduth - Personal Assistant

April is deeply invested in helping individuals find their path to redemption and second chances in life. Her involvement with Rehabilitation of the Heart stems from a belief in the power of second chances to foster positive change. Through innovative programs and personalized support, such as providing resources, counseling, and skills training, Rehabilitation of the Heart empowers individuals to break free from cycles of incarceration or addiction and to embrace new beginnings, regardless of their past mistakes or circumstances.

Through her involvement, April has been privileged to witness incredible stories of transformation. Having overcome her own challenges, she understands the importance of support and guidance in the journey towards rehabilitation. She is honored to be a part of this journey and is committed to using her experiences to advocate for those seeking a fresh start and to contribute to the impactful work of Rehabilitation of the Heart in providing hope and opportunities for a brighter future.

April is committed to walking alongside individuals on their journey towards rehabilitation, offering encouragement, guidance, and support. She is dedicated to continuing her support and to the mission of Rehabilitation of the Heart in restoring hope and dignity to those in need. Together, they are rewriting narratives and creating pathways to brighter futures.
